The author has made the experimental study on the alveoloplastic rehabilitation in the patient with impaired alveolar ridge, from Sept. 1969 to Oct. 1970, in Department of Dentistry, National Medical Center, Seoul, Korea.
The material of the experimental study was a 28 years old korean man who had had the impaired upper alveolus having been caused by osteomyelitis of maxilla, when his age was 4 years old.
The experimental study was made upon the following items, such as the reconstruction of soft tissue alveolar ridge by means of pedicle graft from his right cervical skin, and bone graft under the soft tissue alveolar ridge.
The result were drawn as follows.
1. The reconstruction of the soft tissue alveolar ridge was made by pedicle graft from his. right cervical skin, by 5 times operations for 112 days after the first operation.
2. The autogenous rib bone graft under the reconstructive soft tissue alveolar ridge was made successfuly and therefore the patient could have the good artificial denture.
3. The reconstruction of the soft tissue alveolar ridge and rib bone graft under the new formed alveolar ridge were made completely by 6 times operation for 6 months.
